This is a portrait painting of Sake Deen Mahomed, the proprietor of Mahomeds Baths, which were situated on Brighton sea front on the site where the Queens Hotel now stands. Sake Deen Mahomed was appointed "shampooing" surgeon to his Majesty King George IV.
