(right); '(Dedicated to the Shareholders)' and the title 'The Brighton Aquarium. A Prospective View!' are printed centre. It is dated February 1902 yet the Chain Pier is visible on the right - it was destroyed in a storm in almost six years previous. The cartoon was probably produced following Brighton Corporation's purchase of the aquarium in October 1901 for £30,000 after its operators had got into financial difficulty.
