Romano-British small pot. Grey ware. Wheel made. Repaired and restored by the British Museum. Found in 1953 inside a handmade vessel (now in the British Museum) situated on the floor of the flue a kiln at Lamb Lea in East Dean near Chichester. Carbonised grains were also found. The kiln was built of chalk block and flint nodules on a levelled piece of ground cut into a lynchet of the adjacent and extensive field system.
