Description: Solid silver pocket watch dating to 1852. The movement inside the watch is engraved "M. Volk Brighton". Magnus Volk?s father was also called Magnus and was a clock-maker. It is very likely that his father made the watch movement in his clockmaker?s shop in Brighton and engraved the movement. Magnus Volk was born in 1851 so would have been just a year old when the watch was made.
