Description: View of the Sussex County Hospital as a single building. This view shows the front and side elevation and a horse carriage with a man driving it in the right foreground, to the left is a man woman and child and a man on crutches to the left and centre a man carrying something on his shoulder.The three storey building is shown is built in red brick and stone with steps up to a doorway fronted by a pediment surmounted by two columns. On the roof is a large weathervane in the shape of an arrrow. On the facade is written 'Sussex County Hospital, and General Sea Bathing Infirmary Erected Anno Domini 1823. The building was designed by Charles Barry in 1825, finished in 1828. Many additions have subsequently been made.
