View through to the Chain Pier from Major General Sir Arthur Clifton's House, taken from "Six Brighton Views". The General was a veteran of the Battle of Waterloo and lived at 53 Old Steine. It is an unusual view of the Steine. The house is shown in some detail with a small ornamental garden in front.
