Description (Object or Artwork): This postcard shows Mir Dast, an Indian soldier who was treated at the Pavilion Indian Military Hospital. He stands against an exterior wall of the Pavilion, and wears a coat with a mandarin collar, which is open and turned down. He wears a coloured turban with a striped pattern. The Royal Pavilion, Dome and Corn Exchange acted as a military hospital for wounded Indian soldiers from December 1914 until early 1916. A Muslim Pathan, Mir Dast was awarded the Victoria Cross by King George V at the Pavilion in August 1915.
