This dresser, designed by Henry W. Batley around 1875, includes exotic elements such as pierced arches in the Turkish style and naturalistic depictions of birds and foliage, inspired by Japanese prints. The dresser was made by James Shoolbred & Co. and was intended to display Oriental blue and white porcelain. The dresser is used to illustrate the history of modern design.
