Walnut cabinet-on-stand with two doors carved in low relief with the figures of Diana and Apollo. The spandrels of the stand have carved figures of Victory. The cabinet was formerly in the collection of Albert Goupil of Paris, a celebrated collector of relics of the Valois Kings of France, and it was believed to have once belonged to Diane de Poitiers (1449-1566), mistress of Henri II of France. Made in Paris, France, c1560-70. Part of the Percy Macquoid collection.
