Handwritten below the photograph in faded ink is Mrs E Benett-Stanford. Printed on the card below the albumen photograph is, W & D Downey Photographers London & Newcastle To The Queen. Stuck to the back of the photograph is a newspaper clipping dated 11 November 1932 of an obituary announcing the death of Lady Thomas-Stanford.
