This magic lantern slide shows the Royal Pavilion during its use as an Indian Military Hospital during World War One. It was probably produced by Henry Roberts, the Director of the Pavilion, to illustrate later lectures on the subject. The image shows wounded Indian soldiers recuperating in the Masonic Room. This room was one of several at the southern end of the Pavilion which had been given over for use by local Freemansons.
