Description (Object or Artwork): This magic lantern slide shows the Royal Pavilion during its use as an Indian Military Hospital during World War One. It was probably produced by Henry Roberts, the Director of the Pavilion, to illustrate later lectures on the subject. The image shows wounded Indian soldiers recuperating in the South Drawing Room. Although this photograph had been widely distributed in postcard format, the dimensions of the magic lantern slide show more of the celing decoration.
