Description (Object or Artwork): This magic lantern slide shows the Royal Pavilion estate during its use as an Indian Military Hospital during World War One. It was probably produced by Henry Roberts, the Director of the Pavilion, to illustrate later lectures on the subject. The image shows the operating theatre inside the Dome. This was situated just off the main auditorium which had been converted into a ward. The operating theatres in the Brighton Military Hospitals were considered state of the art for the time, and well-equipped.
