This magic lantern slide shows the Royal Pavilion during its use as an Indian Military Hospital during World War One. It was probably produced by Henry Roberts, the Director of the Pavilion, to illustrate later lectures on the subject. The image shows wounded Indian soldiers in the Banqueting Room. Although this photograph was widely circulated in postcard format, the dimensions of the magic lantern slide show a clearer view of the ceiling decoration and chandeliers.
