Description (Object or Artwork): This glass table with etched glass panels assembled on a chromium-plated steel frame was designed by Rene Lalique around 1930. After winning a design award at the age of twelve, Lalique became a jewellery designer in the Art Nouveau style and by the 1920s, had two glass factories and produced a vast range of luxury glasswares. This table is a rare example of glass furniture, designed in a restrained, rectilinear style. The table is used by the museum to illustrate the history of modern design.
