This photographic print was made by the Borough Surveyor's department during the redevelopment of Brighton Aquarium. The view here is of the area of Madeira Drive just east of the Aquarium. The Brandy Importer & Wine Merchant visible on the left of the picture carries an advertisement for Smithers & Sons, a local brewery. These buildings were later demolished to make way for a colonnaded walkway.
