This photographic print shows construction work on the Brighton Corportation Transport Department workshops in Lewes Road, Brighton. The photograph shows the workshops' floor, and the drainage channel running through it. The floor of this building had been extensively reconstructed the previous year. The print was produced by the Borough Surveyor's department, who oversaw the work on the reconstruction project. This photograph was presumably used to assess the completed work.
