Description (Object or Artwork): This photographic print is in the {g:Carte de visite}carte de visite{/g} format. It is a (g:Vignette)vignette{/g} composition of a woman and a small child. The woman holds the young child, with his or her head touching the woman's cheek. The carte has been hand-tinted in colour, with red blushes applied to the sitters' cheeks. The image has also been crudely retouched in pencil. This was probably applied at a later date, as deterioration of the image has lead to some of the detail fading.
