This is a photographic print of the back of Claremont Row, Brighton. It is a view north along the street. A line of washing dominates the immediate foreground. This photograph was commissioned by Brighton Borough Council's Environmental Health department as part of a visual record of areas considered for slum clearance. Claremont Row was demolished in the late 1930s as part of the Morley Street redevelopment.
