Description (Object or Artwork): This photographic print was made by the Borough Surveyor's department. It shows work in progress on the modernisation of Brighton Aquairum. Although certain aspects of Eugenius Birch's original design were kept, many other features were destroyed. The pile of rubble in the foreground of the photograph shows the fate of many of the original pillars.
