Date Created (of Object / Artwork):

Description (Object or Artwork):
This photographic print was made by the Borough Surveyor's department. It shows the Albermarle Hotel in Marine Parade, Brighton. In an apparent attempt to give the establishment a continental flavour, the hotel bar is named the 'Beer Keller'. This is an anglicised form of the German 'Bierkeller', an underground drinking hall.
