This photographic print was made by the Borough Surveyor's department. It shows the Music Library in Church Street, Brighton. The entrance to a car park is visible on the right of the building, and Attree & Kent funeral directors is on the left. The building was built in 1925 for the Brighton and Hove General Gas Company. The upper floor of the building held a seated theatre which could be used for demonstrations. The building was later acquired by Brighton Council. In addition to its use as a Music Library, it hosted the Local Studies Library for several years.
