This is a photographic print of Regency Square, Brighton. It is a view north from the entrance to the West Pier. Several children's rides can be seen in the foreground. Regency Square is a grade II listed structure. Many of the buildings in this square were designed by Amon Wilds and his son, Amon Henry Wilds. At the southern end of the square stands a war memorial. This was originally dedicated to the 152 men of the Royal Sussex Regiment who were killed during the Boer War of 1900-02. The area occupied by Regency Square was the site of a military camp in the late 1700s.
