Description (Object or Artwork): View of The Royal York Hotel across a green; two women and child seated on garden seat at left, two children playing with dog at left. Woman and child strolling at right, Phillips Confectionary at left, carriage and two horses at hotel entrance, people on balcony of hotel. Torn at bottom of mount. Pegg written over the entrance, which has been added later. The Royal York Hotel, Old Steine, was originally the Old manor House. It was converted into a hotel in 1819 and enlarged in 1827.
