A handwritten note on the reverse reads ?Minnie S Turner (My loving auntie P.M.C.) spent 4 months in prison, for throwing a brick through the window of the Home Office. She was a stanch suffragette'. Minnie Turner was a Brighton resident and supporter of the Women's suffrage movement. The photograph was produced in Brighton in the early 20th century.
