Interior of the Royal Marine Library. Large group of men stand to the left, with many women seated to the right. Long dining table centre with men, women and children seated around. Man and woman stand reading from podium. Library walls covered with shelves full of books. Large chandelier and clock above doorway to right saying time of 9.35pm. This print, from a drawing by C.W.Wing is the alternative title of a humorous musical entertainment called "The Prize" written by Prince Hoare with music by Stephen Storace. First performed on 11th March 1793.
