Description (Object or Artwork): View of Brighton from Chain Pier in foreground right looking West. Sailing boats on sea to left. Bathing huts on beach. Two pairs of pyramidal towers with pediment and arch visible. Group of figures to right, woman and young girl look over the side towards the sea. Right of centre two woman in crinolines, one holding young girls hand greet two men, one with top hat and cane, the other doffs top hat to the women. Published by J. & W. Robins, 57 Tooley Street, London. The pairs of towers were modelled on the design of the pylon gateways of Karnak in Egypt
