Description (Object or Artwork): The blockhouse was erected on the edge of the cliff near the southern end of Middle Street. It consisted of a small circular building, 50' in diameter, 18' high, with walls 7 or 8' thick, in which there were arched recesses for keeping powder and shot. The view shows the ruins pf the blockhouse and several cottages near by. Cliffs in front are covered in vegetation.
