Newspaper clipping of Front view of the school for the Blind in Brighton. Four storey building with decorative Gothic windows. Plaque above door with four seated figures around one standing figure. Statue above with one standing figure and one figuer of a child. In front of the building is a man and woman standing in front of the railings. Card with clipping reads; sited near the county hospital on land provided in 1860 by the Rev. H.V. Elliott, it was built on 1861 by G. Somers Clarke in an Italian Gothic style of Venetian character. Engraving 6" x 4". The school opened on22 October 1861 and closed about 1952 and demolished in 1958.
