Description (Object or Artwork): View of the Chain Pier and Pier Head from the Pier looking West towards Brighton. Man, woman and child in foreground to right, group of figures standing next to railings to right. Four piles visible with four pairs of towers each pair joined at the top by a pyramidal arch, each pair with a flag flying from the top. No. 1512 The pairs of towers were modelled on the design of the pylon gateways of Karnak in Egypt.
