Description (Object or Artwork): The Battery, Brighton. Including view of the Artillery Lodge and Baths. Seafront to the left with row of cannons and pile of cannon balls right. Bath house on right with sign reading: 'The Artillery Warm & Cold Sea Water Baths. R. Hobden'. Men and women walking along footpath right. Horse and carriage on road. Flag flying in centre. The Battery was between Russell Street and Cannon Place, on the site now occupied by the Grand Hotel, the Battery was demolished in 1858.
