This case containing one mounted Hawk Owl shows the specimen in a setting that is a recreation of its natural surroundings.
The bird was collected by a keeper near Chelmsford, Essex, in February 1913 and stuffed by Clarke of Cheltenham. It was purchased by Sir Vauncey Harpur Crewe in the following April, and came to the Booth Museum with other birds from his collection.
