Description: Monochrome photographic print of the opening night of the Imperial Theatre cinema, North Street, Brighton. It was built in 1939/40 to the designs of S. Beverley and was opened in April 1940 as a Variety Theatre by Jack Buchanan. This view of the interior shows people in stalls and boxes. The cinema became the Essoldo. and was later demolished.
