One figure group comprising the prosecution and defence counsels represented by a hawk and rooster respectively, in front of the claimant Thomas Castro (a seated tortoise). The other grouping shows the judges on the bench, represented by owls. Painted plaster, painted to resemble terracotta. Made c1874. From the 'Crime' theme in the Willett Collection.
