Description: Made from stoneware and covered in blue slip applied with three white sprigged vignettes. One sprig shows Toby Fillpot raising his foaming tankard of beer. The other sprigs show four Bacchanalian boys with a goat and the sleeping shepherd Endymion and his dog. Made in Staffordshire, c1810. The jug is part of the Conviviality & Teetotalism theme in the Willett Collection of Popular Pottery.
