Behind the high wall are the backs of the cottages of Boss's Gardens, with just a foot or two of space in between. This photograph was, along with several others, the subject of a competition in the summer of 1930, the photographs being displayed in the window of a chemists shop in St James's Street. The public were invited to identify the locations.
