A postcard bearing a monochrome photographic image of The Bandstand, Western Lawns, Hove. Central to this image is the bandstand with its covered roof. Surrounding it are at least eight circular rows of chairs. These may be fixed or collapsible. Several cars, motorbikes and cycles can be seen parked in the nearby Kingsway and in the background of the picture there are also several rowing boats out on the sea. The reverse of the postcard has some hand written correspondence, 'Dear Leonie, we are still having a good time. Only one wet evening so far. No storms...' a stamp and a postmark, 8.30 PM, 18 August, 1937
