Henry Ratty's Cottage, Formerly opposite the Old Chain Pier Brighton. Copied from an illustration from Bishop's book 'Old Brighton.' Henry Ratty was the Toll keeper of the Chain Pier. The drawing shows a two storey cottage under the Esplanade wall with the top storey projecting over a porch with decorative windows. The front garden is full of foliage. Adjoining is a single storey building probably for storage with a flag pole emerging from the centre. A fisherman with a net over his right shoulder is on the left of the drawing.
