"Apart from the rings, the dress of the [Padaung] women is very much the same as that of the ordinary Karen-ni women. The head dress is simply a coloured scarf twisted round the topknot of hair, and the coat is a long woven jumper with a V neck and short sleeves, slipped over the head and ornamented by a coloured border.
