Reverse of H.M.S. Lizard Special Menu for Xmas Day, 1944. Includes breakfast, dinner, tea and supper. The reverse is signed by a number of those who attended. H.M.S. Lizard was a Combined Operations Landing Craft base that was initially established in Shoreham in the Spring of 1942. The base would eventually occupy buildings at several sites in the area between Shoreham and Hove. A number of buildings in and around Grand Avenue in Hove were requisitioned for this purpose including the Princes, Haslemere, and the Kingsway Hotels, and Courtenay Gate.
