This painting by Charles Ginner shows Leicester Square in the winter with railings, trees and stone urns and buildings and a flagpole in the background. The paint on the canvas is very thickly applied. Ginner was a founding member of the Camden Town Group in 1911 and the London Group in 1913. He was an Official War artist from 1939 to 1945.
