Warrant signed by Lord Protector Oliver Cromwell - July 1649. Presented to the Brighton Museum by the Rt Hon Earl of Chichester 1913. Transcript reads:
'These are to Require yu on sight hereoff to pay to Maior John Wade,the sume of nine hundred pounds by yu recd of the Tresrs at Warre upon accompt, for the hireing of vessels in the river Severne, and byeing of oates, beere and other provisions, in order to the transportacon and acomodacon of the horses for Ireland, for wch the sume he is to accompt to yu, and hereof yu are not to faile, and for yore so doeing, this togeather wth the receipt of ye sd. Maior Wade shall be yore sufficient discharge, Given this xxith day of July 1649.
