This postcard shows Queen Mary's Workshop on the North Lawns of the Royal Pavilion Gardens in Brighton. This workshop was intended to provide the limbless men with new skills, such as carpentry, that they could use after leaving the military hospital. The Royal Pavilion, Dome and Corn Exchange acted as a military hospital for limbless men from 1916 until 1920.
