The male rider sits astride the grey horse, with his lady companion riding pillion. The horse has a bulbous body, cropped tail and long neck. Earthenware, lead-glazed and oxide-coloured. Made in Staffordshire, c1750. Part of the 'Pastimes & Amusements' theme in the Willett Collection.
